'X Factor' Hosts Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez Dish on the New Gig (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)
And while many fans were surprised by the choice of Odom and Lopez as hosts for the singing competition, no one was more surprised that Odom herself that she got the job.
“It was a surprise for me that I was even up for this job but I think I got the job because I am who I am,” the reality star told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview. “I don’t make excuses for it.”
“I think Simon [Cowell], from what he said to me is, he liked that I’m not some trained host and that’s why Mario’s here to kind of stir the ship if I get lost,” she continued. Lopez also told us he is excited about his new gig.
“It’s an amazing show that I was a fan of. To work with these awesome people is a real pleasure and honor and I’m just happy to be part of the team,” said the Extra co-host.
The actor said, “I’m just going to be myself. I don’t know how to be anything other than myself, but I carry myself as a gentleman and I’m always professional so I think we’ll be all right.”
As for Odom, she recognizes that her hosting gig is going to be quite different than appearing on a reality show. For one thing, she isn’t pressed for time when filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Odom’s family will also be there to support her in her big debut. “My family will be in the audience,” she said.
“My mom [Kris Jenner] is like already waiting outside with her tickets to be in the audience, so they’re definitely going to be there,” she laughed.
