Talk about going the distance.

Channing Tatum recently traveled 600 miles from Youngstown, Penn., where he is filming Foxcatcher with Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo, to visit his wife of three years Jenna Dewan in Wilmington, North Carolina, Celebuzz has exclusively learned.

The happy couple, who met on the set of Step Up in 2006, ditched their celebrity status and enjoyed a private dinner together the local Olive Garden on Oct. 28.

And they only had eyes for each other.

"They were trying not to be noticed so they sat somewhere where they could be more private,” an employee at the restaurant told Celebuzz.

The eyewitness added while Tatum was looking to spend some quality time with his wife -- who is filming the new TV series Witches of East End -- he was more than courteous to his fans.

"He was really nice to everyone who recognized him."

Earlier the same day, Tatum, 32, and Dewan, 31, joined a group of four friends for brunch at Boca Bay restaurant for a buffet-style meal, complete with eggs benedict, waffles and omelets, said server Lauren Green.

“They looked like they were having a great time," she said, "and the other customers were so surprised to see them.”

The waiters were also a taken aback by the tip Tatum left.

"I saw the bill," said Green, "He's a very generous tipper!"

Back in Pennsylvania, Tatum has also made his presence known around the Pittsburg area, especially to the local wait staff at Tin Lizzy restaurant.

“He came in with another guy towards the end of the night at 8:30 p.m.," shared restaurant employee Shara Zeunges of his visit last week.

“He ordered a Cajun chicken sandwich and a Kettle One vodka drink,” she remembered.

Although she wouldn’t divulge dollar details, Zeunges said the 32-year-old big screen heartthrob was more than just a good patron.

“He’s a good tipper -- and tipped over 20 percent,” she revealed.

“Everyone just let him be for the most part, but he was polite and introduced himself to the few people here. Nobody really wanted to bother him.”

And Tatum even tried to make himself feel right at home while on location.

“He asked the bartender for directions to places in the area,” Zeunges recalled. “He said it was his first time in the area and he wanted to get an idea of different things to do.”
