'Voice' Judge Christina Aguilera Chides 'The X Factor': 'That's Not What Music's About'
Christina Aguilera hasn't seen a single episode of The X Factor, and based on her latest interview with British magazine OK!, it doesn't sound like she'll be watching anytime soon.
"I've not actually seen an episode of any of the other music shows, not a full episode," Aguilera, 31, said when asked about the hit FOX series, on which her one-time pop rival Britney Spears is a judge. "I saw the commercials with Simon Cowell and I was like, 'Man, that's not what music's about.' It made me sad."
"So that's why I was kind of turned off by the whole thing, just by seeing the commercials," she continued.
"I don't like it," Aguilera -- who on Monday debuted her new single, "Blank Page" -- added. "That's why I'm on The Voice, to show we can be positive, we don't have to knock people down. I support the music business, thank you."
The reality-competition programs previously battled it out in September, when NBC decided to air a third episode of The Voice against the season 2 premiere of The X Factor.
Cowell described the move as a "cynical, cold-hearted, unprofessional way of doing business."
The Voice airs Monday night on NBC.
