Backstreet Boys released a new single for the holiday season on Monday, “It’s Christmas Time Again” — the boy band’s first single since reuniting over the summer with Kevin Richardson.
“There aren’t that many original holiday songs out there — which is so crazy to say — and we really feel we made a timeless contribution to the season and a song our kids will be listening to,” Nick Carter told AOL Music.
A Disneyland crowd got to enjoy the fresh jam over the weekend, as the guys performed the song live for a Christmas special, Gossip Cop reports.
The song’s title recalls that of BSB’s long-ago holiday hit, “Christmas Time,” recorded back in 1996.
The reunited fab five — Carter, Richardson, A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough and Brian Littrell — spoke to Celebuzz in September and explained how they endured to become one of the best-selling boy bands ever, with sales of more than 130 million albums worldwide.
“I think we want to defy Father Time and just keep moving,” Carter told Celebuzz at Old Navy’s Rockstar Jeans fashion show in New York City. “You can call it our reunion album, but we really have never quit. [You] can’t stop. Once you stop, you get old.”
