Katie Holmes' Broadway Return: Star 'Seemed Pretty Chill' at 'Dead Accounts' After-Party, Says Onlooker (EXCLUSIVE)
Katie Holmes' much-anticipated return to Broadway for the preview performance of Dead Accounts was met with tons of applause and praise on Monday night.
And the actress, who plays a woman whose life is disrupted when her con-man brother returns home, "didn't seem nervous" about her Great White Way performance, a theater-goer tells Celebuzz.
She even quickly recovered from an onstage snafu: when Holmes' phone accidentally broke during her monologue, "she got huge applause when she snapped the batteries back in shortly after," the patron explained. "She was very professional."
The play's opening night was clearly a cause for celebration: Holmes stopped by an after-party at The Lamb's Club for a quick post-preview drink, and to mingle with co-star Judy Greer and her onstage love interest, Josh Hamilton.
"Katie was there for the majority of the party and made small chit chat to everyone about the play," said an eyewitness. "She seemed pretty chill. It was a pretty intimate affair and she was very nice to everyone."
Dead Accounts is Holmes' biggest project since her divorce to Tom Cruise in July. It's open to the public on Nov. 29 at the Music Box Theater in New York City. Cruise, meanwhile, has been filming his latest film, Oblivion, in Europe.
