‘Glee’ Preview: Mercedes and Mike Chang Return to McKinley, Plus Sue Meets Her New Nemesis (VIDEOS)
On Thursday night’s all new Glee on FOX, titled “The Role You Were Born to Play,” Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.) return to the halls of McKinley High to help Artie (Kevin McHale) boost Finn’s (Cory Monteith) spirits.
When Artie hands his Grease directorial duties over to Finn, the former football player stuggles to take charge. However, will the surprise arrival of Mercedes and Mike Chang inspire Finn to hand jive? Elsewhere, Sue (Jane Lynch) meets her new nemesis when she finds Unique (Alex Newell) in the ladies room.
But first, Finn has to pick his leads — and it’s going to be tough. Jake (Jacob Artist) and football player Ryder Lynn (newbie Blake Jenner) duke it out for the role of Danny, while misfit Marley and Cheerio Kitty (Becca Tobin) vie for the part of Sandy.
told The Hollywood Reporter. “It hits a point where it’s a little too hard for him and all his emotions pour out like gravy on Thanksgiving.”
The McKinley High jock will then look to Finn for some much needed guidance. In fact, Jenner makes his Glee singing debut with Monteith. The two will take on Foreigner’s rock hit “Juke Box Hero.”
“It’s really epic,” Jenner told Celebuzz at the premiere of FX’s American Horror Story: Asylum in October. ”It’s really awesome. It’s a crazy, crazy ride!”
“Cory is the best actor,” the Glee Project winner added. “I learned so much just by working with him. The other day were on-set, and he was just giving me advice and telling me stories about his life… about acting and the choices that he makes… He’s just awesome. He’s like a big brother.”
Next, Sue meets her new nemesis.
Glee airs Thursdays at 9 PM on FOX.
