101 Fall Outfit Ideas
Enough outfit ideas to carry you through the holidays from your favorite stylish stars.
Printed pants are trending in a big way without any sign of abating. What started as an extension of the colored denim trend has gone viral — spreading from nine-to-five trousers to after-five pants and beyond.

Fashion A-listers, from Olivia Palermo and Jessica Alba to Kristen Stewart and model Coco Rocha, have all swapped last season’s printed skirts and frocks for fall’s trendy trousers.

And we’ve got five more reasons why you should jump on the printed pants bandwagon too — plus, how to style every iteration of the busy bottoms, for just about every occasion.

1. They’re just as versatile as that printed dress. While prints can be hard to pull off — especially on pants, which are tricky to begin with — this trend is far more wearable than you might think. Whether you’re headed to the office, a holiday party, or the movies, we’ve rounded up our favorite print-loving trendsetters to show you how to pull off work patterned pants with panache.

2. There’s a style for every occasion and body. Rather than just being for girls with the stems for skinnies or the height for wide-leg styles, this season’s pants are far more democratic. Prints are popping up on just about every pant styles, from ankle-length skinnies and tailored trousers to breezy (read: loose) palazzo-like pants. In other words, there’s a printed pair to flatter every shape and size.

3. There’s a print for every style, too. Unlike the prints du jour of the past, this trend isn’t limited to just one or two patterns. Just about every design is fair game: florals, stripes, zigzags, foils, paisley. The key is knowing what to pair with your print-of-choice, so we’ve rounded up your favorite style setters to show you how to pull off the hottest printed pant styles and patterns.

4. They’re a run-free alternative to the whole skirts and tights deal. Printed pants are the easiest way to add flair to your winter wardrobe without sacrificing warmth. Plus, they’re more unexpected than a floral skirt or paisley dress.

5. Printed pants are popping up in every price range. From Balenciaga to TopShop, you won’t have any trouble finding a pair to fit your budget. For trendier designs, like paisley or florals, H&M and TopShop have chic but cheap options, and Palermo and Alba are fans of printed tuxedo trousers from Narciso Rodriguez’ new line for Kohl’s. But not all printed pants have a short lifespan: Prada and Michael Kors turned out pairs that will make a stylish statement for years to come, as did Banana Republic, J. Crew, and Kate Spade.
