Harry Styles wants to make one thing clear: He doesn’t just fall for any girl.

“I want someone who is driven,”  the One Direction ladies’ man told Cosmopolitan. “Someone’s good at something they love doing.”

Despite admitting he’s too flirty — and really, which 18-year-old boy isn’t? — Styles doesn’t want to be seen as the womanizer the media makes him out to be.

“The way it’s portrayed is that I only see women in a sexual way,” he said. “But I grew up with just my m0m and sister, so I respect women a lot.”

Meanwhile, his bandmates Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson told the women’s magazine they’re both happy being taken. Tomlinson has been dating university student Eleanor Calder since last year, while Malik is currently seeing fellow pop star Perrie Edwards.

So what attracted Tomlinson, 20, to his lady love? “She studies politics and when she talks about that, I find it really attractive,” he said.

“It’s important for both of you to have independence,” he added. “If she didn’t and wasn’t striving for a good career, it’d be weird.”

As for Malik, the boy bander revealed he’s a bit of a “couch potato,” so when he and Edwards hang out, it usually involves a TV screen.

“I’m a couch potato,” he said. “I love to stay in and just watch a DVD with the missus. Or we all go over to Louis’ house and watch The X Factor.”

And when it comes to love, he follows one simple motto: “I’m a big believer in the motto, ‘Behind every great man there’s a great woman.’ And she’s great.”

However, the boys won’t have that much time left with their girlfriends. One Direction is about to embark on a worldwide press tour to promote the release of their sophomore album, Take Me Home. The lads recently released their second single, “Little Things.” But when it comes to the album’s tracks, Directioners can expect at least one song written for their girlfriends.

“I’m not sure if it’s my favorite, but the most personal one, the one we wrote the majority of the lyrics for, is a song called “Back for You,'” Tomlinson told Celebuzz. “It’s all about being away on tour and missing our girlfriends.”

Take Me Home hits shelves on Nov. 13.
