‘The Voice’s’ Amanda Brown on Her Battle With Trevin Hunte, Switching From Team Cee Lo to Team Adam (PHOTOS)

'The Voice': Trevin Hunte
The front-runner discusses his strategy for the live shows.
With the first week of the live playoffs on NBC’s The Voice out of the way, the Top 12 contestants are getting ready to go all out as they take the stage Monday night.

While we’ll be watching and listening to all the singers intently, Amanda Brown is on the top of our list of performers who will definitely wow the crowd and the country. Brown has consistently rocked the stage during her time on The Voice since dueling in an epic battle with fellow frontrunner and former teammate Trevin Hunte.

“Going into it, we both said to each other that we just want to really want to give a good musical performance,” the singer told Celebuzz regarding the pair’s still-talked-about duet of Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love. “We wanted people to walk away going, ‘Oh, that was a beautiful musical experience,’ and I feel like we both kind of did that, and so I’m really proud of that.”

Given her consistently killer performances, including last week’s cover of Aerosmith’s “Dream On”, does the 27-year-old often have an idea of how she did when she’s done performing?

“When I get on stage, I don’t remember anything that I do. I kind of walk up there and just do whatever comes naturally,” she revealed. “I’m usually a bit nervous to hear what the coaches are going to say, and this last performance on Monday, I was just really blow away by everyone’s reaction – but especially by Adam’s reaction.”

Brown is relatively new to Levine’s team, after being stolen from Team Cee Lo during the battle rounds.

She told us, “It’s been amazing, first of all, to work with both of them. They’re both extremely talented and awesome guys in general. I definitely think that they bring two different perspectives to the table. They definitely have different tastes in music and the music that they perform as artists.”

Now that she’s been working with Adam through the knockout rounds and initial live shows, she said, “He’s just kind of pushed for me to be myself – the kind of quirky, kind of goofy energetic person that I am, and I want to continue to do that.”

Then again, she says, the Maroon 5 frontman is goofy as well, so it can be tough for the pair to get work done.

As for her performance on Monday’s show and beyond, she tells us she’s very excited and “want[s] to try to keep things a bit interesting.” Does that mean she’ll continue to rock out with classic hits like “Dream On”?

“I see myself as an alternative artist. I’m a music fan, and I want to be able to incorporate my life of music into every single performance,” she explained. “I hope in the future to be able to bring that energy but also to show people that I love music and all kinds of music.”

The Voice live playoffs continue Monday and Tuesday night at 8 PM ET/ tape delayed PT on NBC.
