Petitioners urging Macy’s to dump Donald Trump have reached their 500,000-signature goal, but the multi-millionaire's camp isn’t taking the move lying down.

“What I find incredulous is that the creator of the petition is protecting his First Amendment right to free speech while simultaneously trying to impede upon Mr. Trump’s,” Michael Cohen, executive vice president and special counsel to Trump, told Celebuzz. “It’s ironic.”

“I question the legitimacy and accuracy of the website and the number of signatures claimed to have joined this petition," he added. "Regardless, The Trump Organization values its longstanding relationship with Macy's and looks forward to many more years of continued success.”

Almost 503,000 people have signed the online petition, asking the department store to cut all ties with the mogul and citing his “unpleasant, nasty and despicable behavior.”

The basis of the petition, organized by Angelo Carusone, points to claims about Trump’s “sexist behavior” and his “long record of personally attacking women he disagrees by calling them ‘unattractive,’ ugly or fat.”

It goes on to state Trump “perpetuated the racially charged birther conspiracy, repeatedly arguing that President Obama has been lying and was not born in the United States.”

The petition has even received support from the likes of Cher. The Oscar winner  spoke up via Twitter, criticizing Trump as a “loudmouth” and “racist cretin.” “I’ll NEVER GO TO MACY’S AGAIN! I didn’t know they sold Donald Trump’s Line!” she tweeted.

Right now, any legal action on Trump’s part regarding the petition remains to be seen.

“Mr. Trump will take [any future legal action] under advisement if it’s necessary,” said Cohen. “I don’t think everything has to turn to litigation.”

Donald Trump is an Embarrassment to his Family and his Country. He has tried to discredit the President on numerous occassions and even tried to illegally call a revolution against Washington. I will never shop at Macys again!

Considering the fact that his attorney can't even use the word incredulous correctly, I would say the petitioners don't have much to worry about.

I am a proud lib.. and Donald Trump needs to go away. He needs to spend more time on his comb-over hairdo. If he spent more time on that awful hairdo instead of sticking his nose where it isn't wanted... the world would be a much better place!!!

Typical liberal whining. They attack Trump, who by the way has a very good business and personal relationship with Macy's spanning several decades, by calling him names and making up lie after lie after lie. Then when Trump fights back using exactly the same techniques, they cry about it. If you want Trump to refrain from making a personal attack against one of your fellow libs, then don't make one on him to start with. I have to give Trump credit for not putting up with this nonsense. There is a reason why Donald Trump has been so successful and why he has employees who work for him for years, often retiring from his company, and why he has had such good relationships with even his competitors, who often become his partners: He is a decent and honest guy who says and does what says he will do. And by the way, conservatives have never not voted for Obama because of race. They don't vote for him because he is incompetent and knows alot about the wrong ways to do things.
