The trailer, which premiered on Tuesday, plays out like a lurid B-movie from the 1950s, as we are introduced to Tara (Lohan), a “a sensuous woman torn between two loves” (played by James Deen and Nolan Funk).
Not much else is revealed, plot-wise; there is, however, more than enough drama, yelling and tears to get people very excited — or at least intrigued — as the film’s 2013 release date approaches.
The Canyons, from director Paul Schrader and writer Bret Easton Ellis, is the latest project from Lohan, who has struggled to rebuild her acting career following her many run-ins with the law.
Later this month, Lohan — who last week bailed on a much-anticipated interview with Barbara Walters in favor of Jay Leno — will be seen starring as Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime TV biopic Liz & Dick, about Taylor’s tumultuous relationship with actor Richard Burton.
Liz & Dick premieres Sun., Nov. 25, at 9PM ET.
