Vanessa Hudgens, Seth Green and Sam Rockwell Talk About Their 'Whirlwind' 24 Hour Plays Stage Experience (VIDEO)
Actors are used to performing under pressure -- but nothing quite like this.
Take 24 actors, six writers, and six short plays all performed within 24 hours – and you get The 24 Hour Plays -- a live stage experience that even shook the nerves of Hollywood's hottest stars, like Vanessa Hudgens.
“I’ve had butterflies in my stomach for like the past 40 hours leading up to this because it’s like the first day if school and I don’t know whether I’m going to know anybody,” Hudgens confessed to Celebuzz at the 24 Hour Plays opening night in New York City Nov. 12.
The creative process for The 24 Hours Plays on Broadway started the night before the show with each of the cast members sharing only a costume, prop, and their individual talents, while each writer was tasked with composing a 10-minute play by the following morning. No pressure!
Among the High School Musical star's fellow thespians participating in the production were actors Seth Green and Sam Rockwell -- who also vented in excitement about the limited hours spent adapting to the stage with only 12 hours of prep time.
“I was really delirious,” Green, 38, admitted at the Montblanc-sponsored event.
The Can't Hardly Wait actor said from the minute he landed in the City That Never Sleeps, he was on the go for nine hours straight.
“It’s terrifying,” Rockwell, 31, added. “It’s ridiculous. You feel like you’re back to basics all over again. It's so weird, you forget how to act, you forget how to breathe. But working with Billy Crudup and Olivia [Wilde] was really fun because I got to watch some of my favorite actors rise to the occasion.
Despite her nerves, Hudgens, 23, would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
"It was crazy, it was a whirlwind. But I can't wait until I get to do it again!" gushed Hudgens. "I had an amazing time. It was such a fun, free, creative experience."
