Over the past 40 years, the AMAs have seen their fair share of fashion statements -- the good, the bad, and the plain old wacky -- and this year was no different.
At this year's AMAs, the fashion was just as hot as the lineup of musical performances hitting the stage, with an endless array of fashion hits walking the red carpet. From sparkly dresses to glam gowns and flirty frocks, we've rounded up all the night's most noteworthy looks.
The stars really sparkled, with shimmery dresses dominating the red carpet, from Taylor Swift's glam gold-speckled frock and Hayden Panettiere's shimmery silver dress to Carly Rae Jepsen's confetti-like halter confection and Ginnifer Goodwin's pink sparkly mock-neck mini dress.

And the red carpet had its share of style surprises too, from Pink and Nikki Minaj's surprisingly subdued gowns to Swift's stem-revealing shorter hemline.

You have to remember you are nol longer a super-model what sort of example you setting for your girls wearing that "hoochie" dress?
