‘X Factor’ Creative Director: Behind-The-Scenes on Staging and Satisfying Demi Lovato (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

Kardashians at 'X Factor'
The contestants share their run-ins with the famous family.
We’ve seen glimpses of Brian Friedman on FOX’s The X Factor, but very few people know just how important he is to the competition.

As the show’s creative director, Friedman has a hand in pretty much everything the viewer sees on television. And, more importantly, he’s instrumental in helping to tailor the way in which we view the contenders.

“It’s kind of amazing,’ Friedman tells Celebuzz. “Everything that hits that stage is something that started on paper in my office with my assistant and then we see it come to life.”

Friedman, who viewers will remember from So You Think You Can Dance, also works on The X Factor UK with Executive Producer and judge Simon Cowell. Additionally, he has also worked with Britney Spears on the video for “Till The World Ends.”

This season, new judge Demi Lovato has said a couple times that she wasn’t totally happy with the staging. Friedman explains, “I think it’s about learning each other. And this is the first time I’ve worked with Demi in this capacity.”

“So, it’s been a new road for us,” he adds. “But, I feel like midseason right now we’re really understanding each other and I get her vision.”

The X Factor airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 PM on FOX.
