Kim Kardashian is Yahoo!’s Most-Searched Person: Other Stars Who Topped the 2012 List (GALLERY)

Most-Searched Females
PeekScores ranks the most on-demand women online.
From a reality star, to a curvy cover girl and a newly-christened royal, celebrities reigned supreme in Yahoo! searches during 2012.

In the Internet company’s annual list of most-searched terms, politics and tech gadgets took the top slots — with “election” winning out and “iPhone 5″ coming in as the runner-up. But six of the top 10 positions were snagged by some of Hollywood’s most buzzed-about star.

At No. 3, Kim Kardashian reigned as the most-searched person in 2012 — a year that included her romance with hip-hop mogul Kanye West, a three-year renewal of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and the debut of the Kardashian Kollection, her fashion brand with sisters Kourtney and Khloe.

Right on the E! reality star’s heels was Kate Upton, who was No. 4 on the list. After busting onto the scene in Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue, Upton has built an online following through social media and YouTube.

After tying the knot in 2011 to Prince William, Kate Middletonranked at No. 5.

Now her search-engine popularity is only bound to skyrocket following the announcement that she is expecting her first child, which will be the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first-born — and therefore, the possible future Queen or King to the British throne.

Late pop icon Whitney Houston, troubled star Lindsay Lohan and singer Jennifer Lopez rounded out the top ten, along with Olympics and political polls. Find out how the big-name celebrities climb into Yahoo! most-searched list in Celebuzz’s gallery.
