Rihanna is the newest songstress to cross the line from style icon to savvy designer – teaming up with British High Street chain River Island for a “street to chic” capsule collection that’s set to hit stores in spring 2013. The 24-year-old “Diamonds” pop star gushed about her newest project, “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me.” Keep your eyes peeled for this hip collection, which is said to be a representative of Rihanna’s own personal style. “Love You Like a Love Song” singer Selena Gomez has paired up with OPI nail polish to create a range of 14 dazzling shades for the brand’s Nicole line — ranging from glittery lacquers to eclectic brights. “Millions of fans love Selena for the same reasons we do; she’s smart, talented, funny—and has and incredible sens of style,” explained OPI executive VP and artistic director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, who described the collaboration as a reflection of Gomez’ shining image. The 20-year-old pop star’s collection hits stores in January, selling at $8 a bottle. [InStyle]
