'The Voice' Top 6 Eliminations Recap: Impressions, Duets and a Shocking Elimination
The contestants on NBC’s The Voice made a major dent on iTunes Monday night as all six of the singers made it on the charts. Four of those six were still in the Top 10 when voting closed, making their votes count 10 times more, giving perhaps some foreshadowing as to who would continue on in the competition.
So when the votes were tallied, who was sent home and who moved on?
Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Tuesday’s episode.
In the final minutes it was down to three and in the end two were sent home on Tuesday’s live show. It was an emotional end to the competition as Nicholas David, Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown awaited their fates. At the finish, it was the end of the road for Team Adam as both of Levine's contenders, Martinez and Brown, were sent home.
2. Terry McDermott and Trevin Hunte’s duet. The two powerhouse singers rocked on One Republic’s “Feel Again.” While they didn’t work the crowd too much during the performance, the duo embracing each other for the final chords was adorable. Two of our faves singing together – it couldn’t get better.
3. Amanda and Cassadee together! The two female front-runners took on Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway.” A fantastic song by another two of our favorites. We loved it, though host Carson Daly’s comment after the performance (“That was nice”) may have made it that much better and a little bit more awkward
5. Spot on Impressions. Amanda’s impression of Cee Lo; Cassadee’s impression of Blake and Terry’s impression of Adam. AMAZING. These singers took on the coaches perfectly, especially Cassadee with the Starbucks cup. Without a doubt this was our favorite part of the episode
The Voice airs on Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 PM on NBC.
