When Amanda Brown took the stage to perform on Monday’s episode of NBC’s The Voice, the crowd took an audible breath.

As a more than 20-women choir surrounded the gorgeous singer, she wailed on Aretha Franklin’s “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman” so perfectly that it gave us chills.

“I just wanted to do something a bit more soulful with that kind of cool gospel feel and just pay tribute to that part of my life and my upbringing,” Brown told Celebuzz of her personal song choice.

“That kind of music was definitely a big part of my upbringing in the church," she continued. "Not only that, [but the song is] such an iconic and powerful song and I wanted to kind of have that experience on the show. I felt like people haven’t really got to see that side of me.”

Then, under an hour later, the former backup singer for Adele was back for round two changing gears completely by rocking out to White Snake’s “Here I Go Again On My Own” at the request of her coach Adam Levine. The self-described rocker said she was more than ecstatic upon learning Levine’s choice for her big performance.

“When Adam was like ‘you’re going to do this song, you might think I’m crazy,’ I was like ‘No, it’s a great song. Why not?’ Why not do it?’” she said.

“I just really like to have fun on stage and I like for it to be musical and … entertaining but above all else I really want to have fun and that usually happens when I’m doing music that I really enjoy,” she added. “I feel like the two songs I did tonight were examples of that. I really just had fun singing both of them.”

Brown has long since been a fan favorite in the competition and was one of two finalists – the other being Cassadee Pope  -- to chart last week, not only on iTunes but on Billboard with her rendition of Grace Potter and the Nocturnal’s “Stars.”

The tune clocked in at No. 97 on the Hot 100 chart with the original version of the song a mere two songs above at No. 95. While Brown freaked out when Potter contacted her about that epic performance on Twitter, she revealed to us there was one other celebrity fan she had on the social media site, which made her jump for joy.

“Jaci Velasquez,” she exclaimed. “I know a lot of people may not know who she is but when I grew up I was kind of a big contemporary Christian listener and she was one of my idols.”

“I had mentioned her in an interview and so after that she tweeted me,” the 27-year-old said. “She was like ‘Thank you so much. You’re doing an awesome job’ and I was like ‘Does anyone else see this?’ I was stoked when I saw that.”

Brown even admitted to taking a screen shot of the tweet which she still has.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 PM on NBC.

Amanda Brown deserves to be in the final two, not just the final four. Everyone knows Cassadee Pope will be there. Sadly, I think we say goodbye to the amazing Melanie Martinez this week. Give the kid a year to develop her remarkable artistic talent. Her future should be bright. I'm also afraid Nicolas David won't make it, but clearly the fix is in to move Trevin Hunte ahead.
