Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About Balancing Kids and Work: 'You Can't Have It All' (PHOTO)
Although she's played a diverse number of roles in her career, Gwyneth Paltrow prides herself on the most important title in her life: mom.
When asked about balancing motherhood and her career in the January issue of InStyle U.K., the GOOP guru admitted she's turned down major professional opportunities in order to raise her two children, daughter Apple, 8, and son Moses, 6.
"I look for an interesting supporting part about once a year. That’s the most I can manage," Paltrow told the magazine. "Some women can do it and that’s fantastic, but I can’t. You make choices as a wife and mother, don’t you? You can’t have it all. I don’t care what it looks like."Chatting with pal Diane Von Furstenberg for the interview, the Oscar winner said that while she wants more kids, she's "old now." The designer also got Paltrow to open up about her nine-year marriage to Chris Martin, which she's famously refused to talk about in the past. According to the busy mom, their biggest struggle isn't the Coldplay frontman's touring schedule, buttheir "artistic temperaments."
The fashionable friends also discussed one of Paltrow's favorite topics -- food. Not only does she love to cook, but the cookbook author insisted she loves to eat, dispelling rumors surrounding her so-called strict diet.
"I was very strict for a while. I was macrobiotic for a couple of years, then I got pregnant and just ate ice cream," the actress revealed. "What I’ve learnt is I want to enjoy my life and food is a big part of it. I love to cook and feed people. I cook every day."here.
