‘Modern Family’ Star Jesse Tyler Ferguson Talks Wedding Plans: ‘We’re Breaking So Many Rules’ (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW)
“I wanted... to dip my toe into the fashion world,” the Modern Family star told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview.
Ferguson, along with fiancé Justin Mikita, recently launched Tie The Knot, an organization that sells bow ties to raise proceeds for marriage equality.
“I feel like people who wear bow ties are wanting to standing out in a certain way and I think that’s what a lot of people who are trying to support marriage equality are also [doing]... trying to be progressive and they want to be ahead of history,” the 37-year-old actor said.
Ferguson, who plays Mitchell on the hit ABC series, said “everyone can pull a bow tie off,” as Tie The Knot offers items varying in style, shapes and patterns.
“Our first line was created by just inspiration from things we found in our house... a certain pillow that we liked, or a piece of art,” he explained.
“The one I’m wearing right now is designed off of a chair that we have in my living room that reminds me of my grandmother.”
“I think we would expect it... you know, we’re breaking so many rules with our wedding -- we're trying to plan the ceremony, what we’re going to have at the wedding party -- and we kind of realized, we can do whatever we want,” he said.
Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 9PM on ABC.
