Sunday’s episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter will delve into the world of ABC’s Scandal with star Kerry Washington, creator Shonda Rhimes and inspiration behind the show, Judy Smith. Washington will discuss her lead role as Olivia Pope on the drama as well as her highly anticipated film, Django Unchained. In addition to Scandal, Rhimes will touch upon her controversial decisions to kill off beloved characters on Grey’s Anatomy. The episode airs Sunday at 9 PM. [OWN]

Winfrey also announced her second book club selection on Wednesday, The Twelve Tribes of Hattie. Written by by Ayana Mathis (Knopf), the debut novel tells the story of the children of the Great Migration through the trials of one indomitable heroine (Hattie) and her unforgettable family. Winfrey said, “The opening pages of Ayana’s debut took my breath away. I can’t remember when I read anything that moved me in quite this way, besides the work of Toni Morrison.”  [Oprah.com]

Kramer is headed back to TV. Michael Richards, who played the iconic character on Seinfeld has been cast on TV Land’s comedy pilot, Giant Baby, co-starring Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman. The show, created by Marco Pennette, will focus on Alley as Broadway star Madison Banks who reconnects with her long-lost son. Richards will play Madison’s limo driver while Perlman will play her assistant and best friend. [THR]

Nineties babies rejoice! Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are bringing The Goonies together. Corey Feldman joined Sean Astin, who voices Raphael on the animated show, in the sound booth for a Season 2 episode. According to Feldman, this is one of the only times Goonies alums have worked together since the classic flick came out in 1985. [TV Guide]

Nickelodeon’s It’s a SpongeBob Christmas! is premiering on the network this Thursday. The first full-length stop motion animated special features the voice of John Goodman as Santa Claus. It will also feature the popular SpongeBob song, “Don’t Be a Jerk (It’s Christmas)” which was released in 2009. An extras edition of the special will be available on iTunes with 30 minutes of exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. It’s a SpongeBob Christmas! airs Thursday at 8 PM. [Nickelodeon]

The next season of Bravo’s Kathy is headed your way in the New Year. The talk show in which Kathy Griffin chats with celebs about everything pop culture will debut on Jan. 10 at 10 PM. A week prior, the network will feature the comedian in an all-new comedy special, Kathy Griffin: Kennedie Center On-Hers. The special airs Jan. 3 at 10 PM. [Bravo]

Dr. Phil chocked up a major milestone this November, as his talk-show, Dr. Phil, topped the November sweeps ratings for syndicated talk shows. The show averaged 4.2 million viewers during the sweeps period from Oct. 25 to Nov. 21. Meanwhile, Katie Couric’s Katie took the top spot amongst the freshman talk shows, finishing fifth overall. Paranormal series, Weird Desk, has been given a straight-to-series order from ABC for Summer 2013. The series from Stargate’s Carl Binder and The Librarian’s David Titcher will run for 13 hour-long episodes. Weird Desk focuses on an organization involved in mysterious intelligence from the CIA and NSA regarding paranormal and supernatural experiences. [THR]
