Though Team Adam suffered a major blow during the Top 6 eliminations on NBC’s The Voice, coach Adam Levine says he is feeling pretty good.

“I feel like the 6 contestants that we shared as coaches were all winners,” Levine told reporters after his last two contenders, Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown, were eliminated from the competition. “As cliché and trite as that sounds, it’s totally true.”

“The show’s over. It’s December and everybody wins,” he said.

As soon as host Carson Daly announced that Martinez was headed home, Levine hit the stage to console the 17-year-old. Then when it was announced Brown was headed home as well, he embraced her. However, the Maroon 5 frontman isn’t worried about the future of either of his contestants post-competition.

“They’re have been failures on both sides of this [show]. There have been failures on behalf of the people who have controlled the careers of the winners post-Voice which we are trying to help mend. There has been success in places that no one ever thought there would be success,” said Levine, of what he told his singers after they were eliminated.

He continued, “There have been Jennifer Hudsons. There have been surprises and I think that everybody has an equal shot at having a great career. These are six incredible artists that all deserve to be there.”

At the end of the proverbial day though, he said, “They all win and then they go home one-by-one and the winner goes home at the end too. The Voice doesn’t continue beyond the last person.”

The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 PM on NBC.
