'Homeland' Star Mandy Patinkin Wants to Be Claire Danes' 'A-List' Babysitter (VIDEO)

As a CIA officer on Showtime's Homeland, Mandy Patinkin sure knows how to keep a secret — but off-camera he can't help but spill about his No. 1 baby gift for co-star Claire Danes.

Patinkin admits to already spoiling Danes, who is expecting her first child with husband Hugh Dancy early next year. But the gift he has in mind is priceless — diaper duty!

“I have bought many, many gifts for that baby,” Patinkin told Celebuzz at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights' 2012 Ripple of Hope Awards Dinner in New York City.

“But the biggest gift I want to give that baby is I want my wife and I to be on the A-list of babysitters,” Patinkin said.

And the mom-to-be doesn't have to give anything in return. The only gift that Patinkin, 60, wants is the privilege of working with the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress.

Danes, 33, and Dancy, 37, quietly wed in France in 2009. Although Danes has kept many of the details of her pregnancy under wraps, the actress showed off her growing baby bump for the first time at the 2012 Emmy Awards.

The Homeland season 2 finale airs on Showtime at 10 PM on Sunday, Dec. 16.
