'Glee' Nabs a New Love Interest for Kurt; 'Mindy Project' Casts New Gal Pal

Could Klaine really be over? FOX’s Glee has just cast British actor Oliver Kieran-Jones to play head of the NYADA glee club and a potential love interest for Kurt (Chris Colfer) meaning Blaine may be out of the picture for good (at least for now). Kieran-Jones deal is recurring with an option to become a series regular in Season 5. [Deadline]

Mindy (Mindy Kaling) has a new BFF on FOX’s The Mindy Project. The freshman comedy has cast Mary Grill, a vet of the Upright Citizens Brigade in the recurring role. Grill will play Maggie, an old college friend of Mindy’s who reconnects with her friend after she moves into her apartment building. The Mindy Project will also see the departure of Amanda Setton and Stephen TobolowskyAnna Camp, who plays Mindy’s current BFF on the show has been downgraded from a regular to recurring role. The season finale of A&E’s Duck Dynasty destroyed all other shows in the ratings and became the network’s top telecast ever on Wednesday night with 6.5 million viewers. The show, about a Christian family of Lousiana duck call makers, easily topped the other broadcasts that evening including Nashville and The X Factor. [EW]

Meanwhile on Thursday night, ABC’s Scandal rose 14 percent for its largest total audience ever with 7.4 million viewers. CBS’s Two and a Half Men and Person of Interest also saw large audiences with 14.2 million and 15 million viewers respectively. After a stellar showing for Liz Lemon’s (Tina Fey) wedding, NBC’s 30 Rock matched a series low with only 3.33 million viewers. [TVLine]

Bravo’s Top Chef: Seattle hit a season high in the ratings Wednesday night with 1.4 million total viewers. These numbers were up 26 percent as compared to the prior week. In addition, the show has increased its success in mobile traffic. The network’s transmedia series, Last Change Kitchen, is up triple digits from last season. [Bravo]
