Kate Middleton threw everyone and their Queen mother for a loop on Monday when she -- or at least the Palace -- confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child.
The news kicked off a full week of headlines, events and medical terms we're only just learning how to pronounce (seriously, try to say hyperemesis gravidarum five times fast) as everyone begins to prep for the most-anticipated birth in years.

Middleton's pregnancy was confirmed Monday in a statement from the palace.
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby," the statement read. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.
It was then it which it was also revealed that Middleton, 30, had been hospitalized at King Edward VII Hospital in London for hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.
This will be the first child for Middleton and her husband, Prince William, who were married on Apr. 29, 2011.
