Kate Middleton’s Nurse Jacintha Saldanha Commits Suicide: 62 Percent of Our Readers Say Australian DJs Are to Blame (READERS RESPOND)

DJs May Never Return
Suicide follows Kate Middleton prank call
The two Australian DJs involved in the hoax call to Kate Middleton’s hospital, which possibly resulted in nurse Jacintha Saldanha committing suicide, are “devastated” about the incident and may never return to radio, a source close to the DJs told Celebuzz – but are they actually to blame for her death?

We asked our Facebook fans: “Should we blame the Australian DJ’s who prank called Kate Middleton’s hospital for her nurse’s suicide?”

62% of our readers responded “yes” — Sydney’s 2Day FM stars Mel Craig and Michael Christian are to blame.

See what a few of our Twitter followers had to say:

This all started on Wednesday morning when Saldanha answered the phone at 5.30 a.m. in King Edward VII’s hospital and transferred the call through to Middleton’s ward.

Another nurse then told the giggling DJs, who were pretending to be the Queen and Prince Charles, how the Duchess was about to “get freshened up.”

Just a few days later, the mother-of-two was tragically found dead at an address nearby the hospital — in what Scotland Yard is treating as a suicide.

Following the suicide, a spokesperson for the Palace revealed that Prince William and his pregnant wife were “deeply saddened” by Saldanha’s death.

“Their Royal Highnesses were looked after so wonderfully well at all times by everybody at King Edward VII Hospital, and their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha’s family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time,” the spokesperson said in a statement released on Friday.

The news of Jacinda’s death has shocked millions — do you think she felt guilty for revealing details about the royal family? Are the DJs to blame for her suicide? Leave a comment below.
