Prince William Skips British Military Gala as Pregnant Wife Kate Middleton Suffers Another Case of Morning Sickness at Home
Kate Middleton had another case of extreme morning sickness on Sunday, prompting her husband Prince William to cancel an appearance at a British Military gala.
“The Duke of Cambridge will no longer attend the British Military Tournament at Earl’s Court but will spend Sunday privately with the Duchess instead,” St. James’s Palace announced in a statement.
“It is well known hyperemesis gravidarum often recurs and until further notice to allow the Duchess a degree of privacy during her pregnancy, we do not intend to offer regular condition checks or advise of routine developments associated with it.”
Both the Duke and Duchess were scheduled to attend the lavish military event.
The Duke’s cancellation comes less than 24 hours after the 30-year-old father-to-be made his first public appearance since leaving a London hospital with his pregnant wife. Middleton, also 30, spent four days at King Edward VII hospital to treat her extreme morning sickness.
Looking ever so dapper in a black double-breasted suit on Saturday, the Duke attended the Winter Whites Gala, and even made jokes about morning sickness.
“He said they shouldn’t call it morning sickness as it’s a day and night sickness,” former Centrepoint chairman Michael O’Higgins told reporters after the event [via The Daily Mail].
On Dec. 3, St. James’s Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their first child together. The Duchess is less than 12 weeks along.
