In recent years, the Academy Award nominees for Best Original Song have been particularly snooze-worthy. But that all could change in 2013 — Katy Perry made the category's short list!

That's right. Perry's breakup anthem "Part of Me" — the lead single off her motion picture debut, Katy Perry: Part of Me — is in contention for an Oscar alongside other unconventional tracks from Django UnchainedMagic Mike ("Ladies of Tampa," as sung by Matthew McConaughey) and The Man With The Iron Fists (RZA and The Black Key's "The Baddest Man Alive").

Perry will face stiff competition from record-breaking British songstress Adele, who recorded Skyfall's titular theme, and Fiona Apple, whose song "Dull Tool" made the short list for Judd Apatow's This is 40.

Not to mention the Academy seems partial to Disney, so at least one of Brave's song — "Learn Me Right" and "Touch the Sky" — is a total shoo-in for a nomination. And who could forget "Suddenly," the original track that was added to Les Miserables, perhaps solely for a Best Original Song nomination.

Take a look at the full list of potential nominees below (yes, all 75 of them), as first reported by Deadline.com.

Seriously? Can't you at least get the facts right? Part of Me is the name of Katy's movie. The song eligible for an Oscar nomination is "Wide Awake". At least you got it right on the list, which you lifted from another source.
