Many fans of NBC’s The Voice wouldn’t have thought that soulful singer, Nicholas David, would have made it this far in the competition. But there he was on Monday, performing his heart out on his final performances of Season 3 alongside fellow finalists Cassadee Pope and Terry McDermott.

David tore up the stage during the performance finale, so much so that his coach Cee Lo Green told him, “Your fire burned this house down.”

The father of two was having arguably the most fun of all three finalists as he performed three tunes: a medley of “Great Balls Of Fire/Fire,” a repeat performance of “Lean On Me” and a duet with Green on “Play That Funky Music White Boy.”

The duet was one of the definitive highlights of the Monday finale as the duo were joined on stage by a mini-Cee Lo with some killer dance moves.

“Cee Lo had an idea and then we saw him online and then within the next day, he was here in person,” David told reporters about the mini-me’s appearance after Monday’s show. “And I was like ‘Man, you can make things happen.”

“Play The Funky Music…” wasn’t the only epic performance “The Feeling” -- as David is referred to -- put on during the show though. He also played a hot medley of Jerry Lee Lewis’ “Great Balls Of Fire” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire" complete with a flaming piano.

David revealed that while it was his choice to mesh the two songs together because of their similar beats, the fire-lit instrument was all his coach's idea.

So which performance did David think was his best on Monday night?

listening to Cee Lo and like wanting to play with him -- to be able to do that and have that come to fruition, have that be a reality, is amazing because that’s something I wanted to do since day one of this show.”

On his other performances, he continued, “To do 'Lean On Me' was really cool – to revisit that - it was a very defining moment of who I am as a musician and an artist not just a singer. Then with the 'Fire' one, I felt [that] after last week’s performance being so emotionally raw, open, stripped down, I was like I got to end on the ups.”

The winner of The Voice will be revealed on the live Season 3 finale at 9 PM on NBC. Tune in at 8 PM for a 60-minute recap of Monday's episode.
