Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Prepare for ‘Sloppy, Loud Party’ at the Golden Globes (VIDEO)
So why did the comedic pair decide to host the Globes? “They’re pretty fun,” Poehler says in a new promotional spot for the Globes.
“Yeah, we’ve been to them before,” Fey adds. “It’s a very kind of sloppy, loud party. And that seemed like our kind of thing.”
And the night is unlike the rest of award seasons, says Poehler. “The big thing is that television and film get to be together,” she explains. “So the beautiful people of film get to rub shoulders with the horrible, disgusting people of television. And that’s always nice to see.”
The two comediennes also share some of their hopes for the ceremony, from awards they’d like to take home to stars they’d like to meet.
“I don’t think this has ever happened before but I personally would like to win best picture,” Fey admits. “Just me as a person winning best picture I think would be unprecedented because I didn’t even really make a movie this year.”
Angelina Jolie. I mean, I’ve met her in that I…” she trails off. “You have a lot of imaginary conversations with her,” Fey finishes her thought. “I do,” Poehler admits, but “I’m hoping to have a real one, on stage or on camera live at some point.”
And who’s the must-meet guest for Fey? “I hate everyone,” she says. “I don’t want to meet anybody…. I’m just kidding.”
The 70th Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast live on Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
