Beyonce to Sing National Anthem at Barack Obama’s Inauguration; Sexy GQ Cover Leaks
Beyonce Knowles will help Barack Obama begin his second term as President by performing the National Anthem at Obama’s Jan. 21 inauguration, the Presidential Inaugural Committee told PEOPLE on Wednesday.
Joining Knowles at the star-studded event will be American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, who will sing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee;” and James Taylor, who will lend his voice to “America the Beautiful.”
Knowles previously performed at Obama’s 2009 inauguration, during which she covered the Etta James classic “At Last.”
The ceremony is set to take place at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol.
Meanwhile, in other Bey news, the Grammy-winning superstar will reportedly cover the February issue of GQ magazine, based on a new photo leaked to Instagram on Tuesday.
In the photo, Knowles is seen wearing a scantily clad football jersey, which she matched with a pair of barely-there panties.
On Wednesday, the publication confirmed that the “Single Ladies” singer will appear on the cover as “the first of our 100 Sexiest Women of the 21st Century.”
The rest of the photos from the sexy spread will hit the web on Jan 15.
The cover story will presumably be tied to her Super Bowl Halftime performance, set to air Sunday, Feb. 3 on CBS.
