If there was an award for patience, odds are Shawn Holley would win in a heartbeat.

Since 2009, Holley has stood by Lindsay Lohan's side in court, representing the troubled 26-year-old starlet through multiple DUIs, probation violations and a whole lot of other legal headaches (minus the time she briefly quit in 2010, anyway).

Though, if reports are true, Lohan may no longer be a headache for the Los Angeles-born lawyer.

According to multiple sources, Lohan fired Holley on Monday and plans to replace her with New York-based lawyer Mark Heller.

It's awkward timing for sure. Despite the hullabaloo, Holley was still acting for Lohan in court on Tuesday, representing the sometimes actress against allegations she lied to a police officer investigating a car crash last June.

"Do you still represent Ms. Lohan?" Los Angeles County Superior Court Commissioner Jane Godfrey asked attorney Holley in a hearing Tuesday.

"Yes, at this point, yes," responded.

"We've got to get the representation issue nailed down," Godfrey added, before the legal eagle told her: "The representation issue will be nailed down."

So how will it all end? And will Holley be back at Lohan's side again? (Sources for TMZ say Lohan already wants her back.) Who can tell?

As we await answers, Celebuzz thought it might be time for readers to get to know Holley a little better. (Did you know, for example, that her husband is in the Tonight Show band?)

Oh, and Holley entered a "not guilty" plea on Lohan's behalf and the case has been set down for trial on February 27.
