Alicia Keys at Sundance
The singer debuts new Jennifer Hudson film.
Every year, Hollywood makes the trek up north to Park City, Utah for the prestigious Sundance Film Festival — and 2013 is no exception.

Whether they’re in a featured festival film or not, stars such as James Franco and Nicole Kidman have all flocked to the snowy slopes to mingle with fellow celebrities.

This year’s competing films boast a large number of A-listers, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson, Ashton Kutcher, Amanda Seyfried, Shia LaBeouf and Daniel Radcliffe.

With so many star-studded films set to premiere at Sundance 2013, there’s bound to be a famous face around every corner.

Singer Alicia Keys steps behind the camera for The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, of which she is an executive producer and sets the score for the drama about inner city youths.

“The reason I wanted to be involved in the piece — straight off the bat — was because the writing was so superb that it enveloped you,” she toldCelebuzz at the movie’s premiere. “Even just reading the script, midway through it you’re laughing, you’re yelling…you’re just emotionally attached.”

The film also stars fellow songstress Jennifer Hudson as a drug addict named Gloria.
