Amy Poehler to Write First Book
'Parks and Rec' star will hit the bookshelves in 2014.
In what will likely go down as the ultimate companion piece to Tina Fey's Bossypants, Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler will write her first book for publisher It Books, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Monday.
According to the publisher, the book will be "an illustrated, non-linear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons."
No word on how much the deal is worth (aka, we have no idea if it was anywhere near as much as Lena Dunham's reported $3.7 million deal in 2012); however, It Books did say it will hit shelves sometime in 2014.
"[I was] blown away by [Poehler's] creativity and her passion," publisher Carrie Thornton said in the release on Monday.
Given the recent success of many female comedians-turned-authors, Poehler's book should be a huge sell for audiences; already, pal Fey's book has sold over 2 million copies since it was released in January 2012.
Poehler currently stars on the hit NBC comedy Parks and Recreation, for which she received Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Nominations this year. She also hosted the Golden Globes on Jan. 13, alongside Fey.
Parks and Recreation airs Thursday nights on NBC.
