For stars like George Clooney and Brad Pitt, Hollywood is getting more and more crowded.

Why? Because thanks to the box office clout earned by rising stars -- much of which goes hand in hand with recognition at ceremonies like the Oscars and SAG Awards -- several actors and actresses have recently joined their ranks in that rarefied airpsace known as the A-List. In just the last year, a wide range of actors, from Channing Tatum to Jessica Chastain, became members of the “New Guard,” commanding acclaim and commercial success in remarkably equal measures.

But before the A-List has to adjust its margins to fit in next week's box office champs, Celebuzz takes a look at 8 of its newest – and biggest – additions.

So how did we determine our list of newcomers? The same way Hollywood determines theirs.

Celebuzz looked at several actors’ recent box office successes and overall “heat” surrounding the town’s most wanted talent, and then used a unique mathematical theorem (read: Editor’s Choice) to come up with the next generation of A-Listers.
