Deena Cortese Wants to Be on 'Dancing With the Stars'
The former 'Jersey Shore' star has her sights set on the ballroom floor.
From the Jersey Turnpike to the ballroom dancefloor? That's exactly what Deena Cortese is hoping to accomplish.
The former Jersey Shore star is currently on a mission to join the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars -- a dream, she says, that was inspired by her longtime passion for dancing.
"I've been dancing since I was little," she told Celebuzz this week. "I know everybody's seen me Jersey Turnpike on the Jersey Shore but I actually have a bigger passion than just Jersey Turnpiking. I love dancing. Dancing is one of the things I love to do for exercise, or just to get my mind off of things and relieve stress. To have an opportunity to do something like this would be amazing."
But will it actually happen?
"I'm pretty sure my name is on the table," she said, when asked if she's been in talks with the show. "I know that one of my agencies actually spoke to them, so hopefully I get a spot."
If cast, Cortese wouldn't be the first Jersey Shore alum to join the show; her former co-star, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, competed during season 11, and was eliminated after four weeks.
"I thought Mike did really great," Cortese said. "He did his own thing but I would bring my own flavor. I think that I could make it to the end. I've been dancing forever, so I think I could definitely make it further."
"I definitely think I could win," she added.
"I would love to wear, like a big flamingo thing or something. The more outrageous, the better."
Dancing With the Stars premieres March 18 on ABC.
