Chris Brown Likely to Avoid Jail Time, Says Jane Velez-Mitchell

Brown & Ocean Brawl
Chris Brown and Frank Ocean fight in L.A. parking lot.
We all know Chris Brown has had a few run-ins with the law, his most memorable one undoubtedly being when he beat up then (and now) girlfriend, Rihanna, back in 2009.

Brown was sentenced to five years probation for that infamous night. With just two years of that sentence left, Brown is back in hot water following a brawl with Grammy nominee, Frank Ocean.

The entire situation arose from a call to police on Jan. 27 in West Hollywood where a fight was said to have occurred between six men, two of them being Brown and Ocean. The situation is still being investigated, however both artists have reportedly sustained injuries.

Brown is due back in court for a probation hearing on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

HLN’s Jane Velez-Mitchell looks at the situation frankly, “We all know that when big stars violate their probation, if they have high-powered attorneys, they seem to get away without spending any significant time behind bars, if they even visit a jail.

“We do have a two-tiered criminal justice system in this country, one for all of us and one for the rich and famous,” says Velez-Mitchell.

So, we turn to you and ask: do you think Chris Brown should face legal action for this latest brawl?
