She appears in hit movies, has her own fragrance and a clothing line to boot. Yes, at  just 20 years old, Selena Gomez is one of Hollywood's fastest rising stars. As one of the most influential young stars under 30, she ranks 24th on Celebuzz's Hollywood Power Index.

Despite her newly single status, 2013 promises to be a big year for Gomez. The new album that has kept the star busy in the recording studio is sure to shake things up. Taking a new approach to her music, Gomez says that the tracks on her upcoming release will take her fans by surprise.

“Iʼve recorded over 18 songs already...Iʼve never recorded this much in my life,” she told Celebuzz last month. “Iʼm excited to do things that I feel people are going to be a little taken aback by."

Next up, the actress will appear on the big screen in the risque R-rated flick Spring Breakers. Distancing her from the squeaky clean Disney girl label, Gomez describes her character as having "a little bit of an edge … She smokes, she drinks, she kind of dances with random guys."

That doesn't mean that the star has forgotten about her younger fans.

“Iʼve done my best to warn the parents…” she told Celebuzz. “Iʼll be 21 this year so for me itʼs been kind of refreshing and nice to step out of my comfort zone and do things that I didnʼt think I could do as an actress...I do my clothing line and everything else for my fans. But 18 and older [fans], go see Spring Breakers!”

Love Selena. She's always had that kind of innocent personality to her so I'm excited to see her act in a character that's out of her element in Springbreakers. I also think it's really considerate of her to warn her younger fans that this isn't something for them... Though I'm sure they'll still be begging their moms to see it. That's the difference between a star breaking out of her Disney role to being labeled as risque and a star just growing up in her career as she grows older.
