Taking Hollywood By Storm - Dakota Fanning Is On Top Of Her Game
With more hit movies under her belt than most stars twice her age, Dakota Fanning has a bright future in Hollywood.
Some girls have all the luck - take Dakota Fanning, for example. The star - who ranks No. 22 on Celebuzz's Hollywood Power Index - has modeled for Marc Jacobs, been honored by W magazine as one of Hollywood's best performers, won the coveted title of homecoming queen two years in a row in high school and even has a Barbie made in her likeness by Mattel.
Before most actresses even get their big break, Fanning – who will turn 19 this month - has already established a solid film career. The star first leapt onto the scene over a decade ago, holding her own opposite veteran actor Sean Penn at the tender age of six as Lucy in I Am Sam. Since then, she's co-starred with some of the biggest names in Hollywood - Mike Myers, Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington and Robert DeNiro, to name a few.
Pal Kristen Stewart – who appeared with the actress in both the Twilight series and The Runaways -talked about the actress' superstar career to Cosmopolitan last year saying, “We had a few scenes that were crazy intimidating, and maybe once or twice, [Dakota] was like ‘Okay, I have a butterfly in my stomach,’” Kristen said of shooting Runways with her costar. “Meanwhile, I’m hyperventilating! Sometimes I give her shit for being so on the ball.”
“When you choose to do this with your life, you’re in the public and people watch you,” the actress has said. “But I’d rather do this than not.”
