'Wizards' Fans, Selena Gomez Still Loves You
With risque "Spring Breakers" generating headlines, the actress hopes to reconnect with young fans.
The formerly squeaky clean Selena Gomez decided to get a little dirty for her new role in the upcoming film, Spring Breakers. With the Disney Channel star maturing, her films have been following suit and that has been generating headlines. Besides Spring Breakers, she has two more films coming out later this year aimed at a more adult audience.
But don't fret, young ones, Gomez has not forgotten about you. With the upcoming Wizards of Waverly Place special, the young starlet gets back to where everything started.
“I've been able to do like three or four incredible movies. And some of them may not be appropriate for my younger fan base,” she told Celebuzz on-set of the special.
“So, for me being able to come back and do this for them, means a lot to me. So, I hope this means a lot to them. I mean this is why we're doing it: to let them know we didn't forget.”
“It's the family going to Italy, a whole new setting, and the magic's bigger, we have special effects. I play two versions of myself, which has been a challenge. And it's been good, it's funny, and everybody's just kind of back at it,” she continued about the special appropriately titled, “Alex vs. Alex.”
Gomez is not returning as just the star of the new special but also as an executive producer. “It's funny. I definitely don't view myself as that. I just wanted to make sure it was the best episode ever,” Gomez told Celebuzz on-set of the special.
The Wizards of Waverly Place special airs on Disney Channel Friday, March 15 at 8PM.
Wizards fans, does the special sound like something you'll be watching?
