'RHOBH': Interventions

Taylor faces an intervention and confrontation. Read More »

There were interventions and confrontations on Monday’s episode of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Alex McCord is back to give you a piece of her mind on the antics.

First up, she takes a look at Kim Richards and Kyle Richards’ “quasi-intervention.” And she thinks something isn’t right about the whole ordeal. Did the women go into extensive discussions with the producers about how that chat would go down?

That also got Alex thinking. There have been reports that Taylor isn’t returning to the show. Will the need to take time away for herself help explain the possible exit?

Speaking of setups, it doesn’t seem like Alex believed that the gals’ Paris trip came together organically. The former NYC housewife had to call out the entire crew for bad acting. But, she understands what it takes to get the women on a plane for this season’s big trip.

And finally, did Kim fall off the wagon? Alex wonders if she’s really drunk in Paris or just jetlagged. What do you think?

Great job! I thought it was odd how they all were going to Paris ,why not just say it's the big trip. My favorite part was when Lisa found out that Ken had his son when he was 21 not 16 ! She really seemed shocked.

Thanks for clearing that up. it is something I have wondered about also. Great vlog again Alex!

Good for Kim -- the blogs are the fastest way to do damage control or give a rebuttal about anything that happens in a particular episode. I can only speak for myself to say that blogging wasn't a specific contractual requirement, but HIGHLY encouraged. The thing is that you don't upload them yourself -- you send them in to an editor. Again speaking for myself, I was pretty annoyed more than a few times to find my blogs bowdlerized. When we started RHONY, twitter and facebook weren't popular yet so the blogs were really all we had. Would you believe I didn't join twitter until 2 years after we started?? As social networking has exploded, blogging has probably become less important, but it's still a worthy stage if you have something to say (as long as the content only makes other cast members mad, not the network, lol!)

Yes, I thought they did a really good job capturing the essence of St. Tropez, and so far, so good with Paris but we'll see next week.

Alex, Kim put up her Bravo blog toot-sweet this week "explaining" her loopy behavior. She is always either late or doesn't bother to blog, which leads me to a question. Are the housewives required to blog, is it in their contract as part of their salary or are these blogs voluntary? thanks

I would think that air Tahiti would fly from LA to France because isn't Tahiti part of French Polynesia? LA would make a good lay over if you were going from Tahiti to Paris

Fun catching up with you. Thanks again

I think your commentary was, as Lori says, spot on. The "intervention" seemed a bit contrived, but I also think Kim had true passion for the message and it seemed to be an authentic concern to her. I have seen Taylor's Twitter in which she really responds negatively to Kim's vocalization of Taylor's possible issue with alcohol, so I sort of scratched my head watching it unfold because in the episode, Taylor comes off as being appreciative of the concern, and open to the idea she might need to curb her drinking. One thing on camera, a whole 'nother thing on Twitter where she had quite the opposite reaction. So we never truly know how much is reality tv, and how much is really "good" tv. Again, enjoyed your synopsis and enjoy reading your take on all things "real."

I have been away from the vblogs for a little while and am getting caught up today. Great job as usual Alex! Paris was fun to watch as it brought back awesome memories of when I was there a few years ago. Favorite part of this episode had to be the intereactions of Ken, Lisa and the family in St. Tropez.

Perfection Alex! You were "spot on" !
