Glee, which airs Thursdays on Fox, is celebrating its 500th rocking musical performance with a rendition of “Shout” – the classic party song made famous in the comedy Animal House.
To celebrate this momentous musical occasion, Celebuzzhas collected some of our all-time favorite Gleemusical numbers. From one-hit wonders, to heart-wrenching ballads, these are productions that have made this show the talk of our office since 2009.
Glee is also giving back to commemorate the event. Columbia Records and Twentieth Century Fox Television will give 100 percent of their net proceeds from U.S. downloads of the “Shout” single starting March 5th through the end of the season to the Give a Note Foundation.
Glee and the Give A Note Foundation, which helps struggling school music programs across the country, have previously joined forces – creating the campaign GLEE Give A Note that raised a donation of $1 million to save music programs at 73 winning schools nationwide. The Shout donations look to help even more schools where music is currently at risk due to funding cutbacks.

To warm you up for the big 500th song event, here are our favorite Gleemusical moments:
We Love Santana’s passion on this rendition of “Make No Mistake, She’s Mine”
Madonna’s “Hung Up” actually stacks up second to this Glee-tacular number put on cafeteria-side
A winter Sadie Hawkins dance was the setting for this gender-beding rendition of TLC’s “No Scrubs”
It may be a bit passe now, but at the time we couldn’t stop replaying Glee’s take on “Gangham Style”
Still one of the sexiest takes on Britney Spears ever, including by Brit herself.
