Celebrity Twitter Feuds

Not everyone can handle the Twitterverse.

Since the social networking site’s inception in 2006, Twitter has seen — and lost — many celebrity users over the years.

From Charlie Sheen (whose crazed “tiger blood” rants were famously documented in 140 characters or less) to James Franco’s one-and-a half month stint, not all in Tinseltown are in toasting the tweeting.

On Wednesday, the micro-blogging platform lost yet another famous face when “Can’t Be Tamed” singer Miley Cyrus announced she was stepping away from her account for an indefinite time.

“I am so sick of La. And sick of the lies that come with it. I didn’t call off my wedding. Taking a break from social media,” she tweeted following rumors that she had broken off her engagement to The Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth.

“My new music is gonna shut everyone up,” the 20-year-old added before signing off. “Not discussing anything but my music from now on.”

The year 2013 also saw the joining — and leaving — of Megan Fox.

The Transformers star had set up an account following the “RIP Megan Fox” death hoax that was trending on the website but left Twitter five days later.

After 29 tweets, the actress took to her Facebook page to explain her exit, writing, “I thought that 2013 might be the year that I finally blossomed into a social networking butterfly… but as it turns out I still hate it.”

“Facebook is as much as I can handle,” she added.
