SJP: I Didn't Slam 'Carrie Diaries' And 'Girls'
Sarah Jessica Parker's rep says the "Sex and the City" star never bashed The CW's prequel and HBO's hit show.
Sarah Jessica Parker wants to address recent reports that the actress bashed the The CW's The Carrie Diaries and its star AnnaSophia Robb.
"They were not made with any negative slant or malice."
The quotes saying Parker slammed the series have been picked up by numerous news outlets, including CNN, HuffingtonPost, and CBS.
At any rate, the story goes against Robb's own experience. The young star told reporters at the most recent TCA Press Tour that SJP was extremely kind to her after getting the part.
“She sent me a very lovely note just kind of giving me her blessing and encouraging me and telling me how excited she was and how dear the part was to her, and so that was huge for me because, you know, I was obviously nervous," Robb said.
Parker theorized -- according to the interview -- that had it not been for the wildly successful show, Lena Dunham's series (which has a very similar premise to SATC, except it takes place in Brooklyn) may have been a mere fantasy.
"I do feel Sex and the City's success made that possible," she is quoted as saying. "And it would have been different otherwise."
