The Newest 'Bachelorette' Is Revealed
Fan favorite Desiree Hartsock is announced as the next Bachelorette.
She may not have won Sean Lowe's final rose, but Desiree Hartsock will still have her shot at love.
"I just can't even believe I'm here," Hartsock, known affectionately as Des, told Chris Harrison after he announced her on Monday's After the Final Rose special.
"I could never have imagined signing up for The Bachelor and having this opportunity."
Her official biography on ABC reveals she is a 26-year-old bridal stylist from Northglenn, Colo.
Hartsock also shed some light on the ninth woman to star in the spin-off The Bachelor.
If you could be someone else for just one day, who would it be and why? An Olympic champion to know what it feels like to physically work so hard to be the best in the world at something and have all that hard work pay off.
What is your favorite all-time book and why? "Eat, Pray, Love" because it's a personal journey of overcoming and finding love and happiness along the way.
I love it when my date... Isn't trying to be someone else or act different to impress me. When they can be candid and goofy and let the date proceed naturally.
"I'm so happy for them," she said.
"I could only hope to have the love that they've found and I am very hopeful in all of this. And I do hope to meet the man of my dreams."
"I do believe [in the show]. I'm ready, I'm open and I've seen it happen," she continued. "I did realize that the feelings are real – the emotions that you go through. It is a real relationship and I'm going to have many of them!
