Not Swift Enough… Taylor’s Magazine Covers Aren’t Selling

Taylor Swift’s latest record may be flying off the shelves, but her magazines aren’t sharing the same fate.

According to the a report by Women’s Wear Daily, the 23-year-old singer’s many magazine covers — including her appearances in Vogue, Glamour and Harper’s Bazaar — yielded lackluster sale numbers at the newsstand in 2012.

In the publisher’s statements sent to the Alliance for Audited Media, Swift’s Cosmopolitan cover flopped as the weakest issue of the year, selling 20 percent below the six-month average that ended in December 2012.

Swift’s November Glamour cover yielded a little over 443,000 copies, failing to beat out the 500,000 issues Lauren Conrad sold in May. Spice Girl Victoria Beckham also outsold the “I Knew You Were Trouble” crooner, selling approximately 482,000 copies last September.

In terms of Harper’s Bazaar, Swift sold a mere 138,412 copies.

So, who what celebrities do do well for fashion publications?

Women’s Wear Daily reports that starlets such as Katy Perry, Rihanna, Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Middleton all saw great sales numbers in 2012.
