There May Be A Sibling In Suri's Future
Katie Holmes says she is "open to" expanding her brood.
"I don't know. I'm open to it," the actress says of expanding her family in the April issue of Allure magazine.
But for now, Holmes has her hands full as a single working mom — juggling raising her 6-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise, with her career ventures, from launching her first-ever designer clothing line, Holmes & Yang, to returning to the Great White Way in Dead Accounts.
"I was open to — well, to whoever wanted me," said of her run in the Broadway play, which was closed two months early in January. "But it was always my goal to make it back to the stage."Though Holmes has some big-screen productions in the works, rumors have swirled that she is considering abandoning acting for a future as a lawyer.
"Well, my brother and father are attorneys, and—we'll see," the actress, 34, said of the possibility of trading the red carpet for the courthouse. "I like the practical thinking of attorneys."
Whatever the future holds for Holmes, the star is keeping her fingers crossed for a better, brighter 2013. "I hope this is a peaceful year for a lot of people in the world," she said. "When you look back on the last year, there were a lot of tragedies — Hurricane Sandy, the Connecticut shooting. I … I just hope it's a good year for everyone."And that includes herself. While she made no mention of her highly publicized July 2012 divorce from Cruise, Holmes said simply: "A lot of people have gone through a lot of stuff."
