Bieber: ‘I’m Young And I Make Mistakes’
Justin Bieber speaks out on his bumpy year so far, being 19 and that gas mask he wore in London.
Justin Bieber just wants to act his age.
But as he knows firsthand, being 19 and famous comes with an endless cycle of headlines, rumors and extra attention devoted to every detail of his life.
“The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a bad person,” he recently told Us Weekly. “I get upset about that. I have a big heart. I want to be a good role model, but some people want me to fail.”
“I’m young and I make mistakes. That’s part of growing up,” he continued. “I mess up sometimes. It’s part of growing up.”Celebuzz on Wednesday that Bieber also spat at the neighbor who filed the battery report. No charges have been filed.
Bieber, who is due in Munich, Germany for the next stop of his Believe tour on Thursday, also told Us Weekly that despite the bad headlines, he’s still truckin’ along.
“This business can break you down, but I have a strong team around me, and my family and all the fans,” he said. “The love overcomes the negativity. I’m not perfect but I’m growing and trying to be better everyday. That’s part of life.”
Addressing the bizarre gas mask sightings from London, Bieber told Us that it was all for fun.
“I wanted to hide my face from al the cameras,” he said. “[My friends] got it as a joke. My friends and I like messing around.”
“I’m thinking about my next album, next tour. Or maybe I’ll take a break,” he told Us. “I’m figuring it out. isn’t that what you’re supposed to do at 19?”
