The Doctors Are In... The Mood For Love
Mindy Kaling talks about potential relationships on FOX's "The Mindy Project."
Multitalented Mindy Kaling brings many complicated romantic scenarios into her FOX comedy, The Mindy Project. And while much of what she brings to the screen is taken from her own life, the actress and producer is actually pretty transparent about her own lack of romantic experience.
"I've only had like three boyfriends in my entire life," Kaling tells Celebuzz on a press call. "So for me, it's not that hard to be open about [relationships]."
"It's easy to be an open book when you have a fairly boring personal life," she says.
On the upcoming episode entitled "My Cool Christian Boyfriend," Mindy dates a character played by Workaholics star Anders Holm. And he is already in a committed relationship with another man --God.
"He is doing kind of a big arc playing this really funny character of this minister that has a lot of swagger," explains Kaling.
She compares Holm's character to a "Vegas club promoter" and tells us that he has a lot of celebrity friends. Kaling also promises that the relationship will definitely be one to remember.
"What if someone new comes in for Danny that's a really funny, great character for him to fall in love with?" Kaling says.
The 33-year-old does think that Danny and Mindy have a great chemistry that works well for the show. However, she's still experimenting with the characters' love lives.
"Any guest star or new character could come and change the dynamic completely." she says.
The Mindy Project airs Tuesdays at 9:30PM with a bonus episode airing next Thursday at 9:30PM.
