Watch: Why Drew Barrymore Is Just Like Us
“I feel like I’ve always been known to fall off my face or fall off the rails or have that 'what is she doing?!' Like that’s so crazy,” Barrymore told Celebuzz at Lucky Magazine’s Fashion and Beauty Blog Conference at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles April 3.
“That’s part of it.”
And like all girls, they just want to have fun... with playing dress-up. And the Charlie's Angel star embraces her chameleon-like transformations that we’ve grown to love during her three decades in showbiz.
“I’ve been doing makeup my whole life and I’ve been in a makeup chair my whole life. I know so much about makeup and I really care about it.
“I’ve done everything from crazy paint all over my face at a Bonnaroo concert to trying to look really conservative and glamorous on a red carpet or just trying to use concealer so I don’t feel so awful about walking out my front door, so the same as a lot of women.”
Barrymore says she was inspired by the memories of little girls watching their mothers put on makeup in front of the mirror -- a fondness she knows all too well as a new mother to 5-month-old daughter Olive with husband Will Kopelman.
“I remember looking at women’s vanity tables when I was a kid, like shoes, will I ever wear I heels? It’s such a little girl’s fantasy,” Barrymore told CB! “And then you get to adulthood and you realize how crazy life is and I wanted to give women that moment of a vanity table piece.”
